Easton Redding United Soccer Club

!!!---Dear Members of the Easton Redding United Soccer Club---!!!

This message is an invitation to come together as a club for our Annual Members Meeting. This annual meeting serves 2 main purposes for the ERU organization:

(1) provides a forum where Members can vote for prospective board members and

(2) allows parents, guardians, and existing board members to share thoughts and ideas about what’s going well with ERU and any areas for potential development.

It also serves as a forum for Members to learn more about how the board operates and how you can potentially get involved in building on our mission to provide a positive soccer experience for the children of Easton and Redding and provide a “Pathway to Play” in the Joel Barlow soccer program.

Date – Thursday December 4, 2025
Location – To be circulated once we have a headcount
RSVP – Please RSVP prior to November 14, 2025 [email protected]

Voting – We have 2 great members of the ERU community who, per the club’s bylaws, have successfully met the criteria to be nominated by the board to run for vacant board seats. Being that the board has more open seats than candidates this year, the voting will primarily be ceremonial. The following candidates are running to serve a 3-year term:

- Kristi Slater – Kristi is a Redding resident who is an incredibly active member of the board serving as an officer in the role of Treasurer as well as co-chair of the Team Managers sub-committee as well as the Financial Aid sub-committee. Kristi’s children are all very involved in ERU with a daughter playing U13 and 2 boys who are U11 and U9. She also has an older son who plays Varsity for Joel Barlow who formerly played for ERU and now referees ERU games as well as coaches in house and assistant coaches for travel. Kristi is completing her first 3-year term as an ERU Board member and is running for a second term.

- Robert Commisso – Rob is a Redding resident with a son playing for U15 and currently completing his first 3-year term as an ERU board member. He currently serves as an officer in the role of Secretary and participates in many sub-committees including co-chair of the Bylaws sub-committee and co-chair of the Scholarship committee. In addition to soccer, Rob also volunteers as a coach for RCC boys basketball league. Rob is running for a second term on the ERU board.

The Board is currently comprised of 12 seats (6 Easton and 6 Redding). For anyone who would like get involved as an ERU board member the criteria can be found below or you can reach out to [email protected]. Prospective Board members must:

ERU President's Message

Dear Club Members,

Easton-Redding United (ERU) Soccer is a non-profit organization that has been serving the families of our community since 2009. ERU is a member of the South West District of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA), one of the largest and most competitive districts in the state.

ERU has a strong connection with the Barlow High School soccer program, sharing many of the coaches and practice facilities. Barlow players practice with ERU teams, and ERU players show their support by filling the stands at Barlow home games. ERU is not only the "Path to Barlow" but also the best way to become part of our vibrant soccer community here in town.

I’m honored to serve as ERU President for 2025. We are fortunate to have an outstanding group of volunteers on our board, all dedicated to ensuring a fun and competitive experience for our players and families. If you are interested in volunteering for ERU—whether as a team manager or by joining the ERU Board—please let us know.

Recently, the ERU board has been working to expand our offerings by providing more indoor soccer and summer camp options. We will keep you updated on new programs and registration dates through email and social media.

Looking forward to a great year,
Jay Miranti
ERU President
