ERU Past President's Message

Dear Club Members,

Easton Redding United has been providing the youth of Easton and Redding with a positive soccer experience since 2009 and I am proud to serve as President.  Over the past years there has been tremendous growth in the programs we offer.  We have challenged ourselves to adapt and offer what the membership is asking for while adapting to the new challenges that we all face in player, staff and membership safety.

Without our volunteers we would not be able to offer these experiences to our children.  The ERU board is comprised of parent volunteers, with the intention to equally represent both the towns of Easton and Redding, while additionally representing the boys and girls programs. A complete Board would be 8 members, with the annual membership meeting in December to elect the President, VP, Secretary, and treasurer.  Other board positions are Registrar, Web Master, Discipline Chairman, Boys and Girls Travel Directors.  I invite all members to get involved and help guide our children in their development as youth soccer players and the feedback parents provide helps us to offer the best possible town based soccer at a reasonable cost for our players.  Developmentally our program is aligned to the Joel Barlow High School boys and girls varsity coaching staff in order to offer a consistent developmental approach from U8-the HS program.

The Board meets once a month on the second Monday of the month.  All board meetings are open to the public. Please check the site for meeting times and locations.

Besides working to keep players on the field, the board works to challenge our coaching staff to engage all ages, to increase scholarship so that no town player is refused the option to play based on financial need, maintaining our club policy's in line with those of our parent league CJSA/US Soccer.  Our leagues are part of the South West District (SWD) of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) as a member of the SWD we have maintained competitive teams in one of the largest Districts in the state of CT, comprised of 24% of the Ct travel soccer players.
