ERU Travel Program Overview
The ERU Travel program is designed for competitive players who are ready to commit time and energy to their development. Our goal is to provide the highest-quality playing and training environment possible based on each player’s talent, drive, and long-term aspirations. Our aim is to have as many players as possible continue into the Joel Barlow High School soccer program.
ERU teams play in the Southwest District of the CJSA and are grouped strictly by birth year. (This is being updated for Fall 2026)
All travel teams are coached by professional coaches. The program is led by the Joel Barlow High School varsity boys and girls coaching staff.
Games are typically played on Sundays, with an occasional Saturday match. Most opponents are within Fairfield County. Parents are responsible for transportation. Players must wear soccer cleats, shin guards, and the official team uniform (purchased separately).
Season timing is set by CJSA. The fall season usually begins in September and the spring season begins in April, each consisting of roughly eight games over a ten-week schedule. Optional preseason training is offered before both the fall and spring seasons.
