New SWD Policy regarding spectator interference at a match:

The referee’s primary focus is on safety and fair play of the players on the field.  As warranted, Referees can take direct action via cards or dismissal against anyone listed on a roster, e.g. Players and Team Admins (Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers). Maintaining proper Spectator behavior is the sole responsibility of the Team Admins for both teams.

If, in the opinion of the referee, actions from the spectator side of the field are interfering with the ability of the players and/or the referee to focus on the match, they will stop the match and direct the Team Admins to deal with the situation promptly and thoroughly

If the referee has to stop a match for spectator interference, this SWD policy is in immediate effect for the Team Admins present:

1. Both Head Coaches must completely cross the field to the spectator side to address the group.
     - If the referees are able to identify specific individuals who must be removed, the coaches must inform them that they have to leave immediately.
     - No discussion allowed, no debate.
     - They have 1 minute max to collect their gear and remove themselves completely from sight of the field.
     - Please note, the referee can also require that ALL Spectators leave before the match can resume.
     - Anyone required to leave cannot be within sight of the field. The match will not resume until they have done so.

2. Team admins are duty bound to identify those individuals who are dismissed and pass this information to their Club President so that the issue can be addressed by the District.
     - Failure to do so may result in sanctions for those Team Admins present in lieu of the unidentified individuals.
     - If the referees have not been able to identify specific individuals, then proceed directly to step 4.

3. Coaches must inform the remaining spectators that the rest of the match will be conducted under Silent Sidelines protocol.
     - No spectator voices to be heard. Polite applause for good play only.
     - Any further disruptions will likely lead the Referee to Abandon the Game.

4. Failure of either Coach or other Team Admins to promptly identify and remove designated spectators, or inform the spectators regarding Silent Sidelines, may result in them receiving Cautions, Dismissal, or ultimately the Abandonment of the Game.
